ABOUT US

Kirby has over 25 year of experience building houses and gardens. He has a degree in Forestry Sciences from Texas A & M University, served in the US Peace Corps’ Agroforestry Program in Guatemala, and has been studying and teaching sustainable design for just as many years.

Through good design and best building practices we can eliminate the possibility of waste in our settlements, as well as eliminate pollution and unnecessary work. Kirby believes that we should be building houses and landscapes that pay us to live in them, that we can give back more to the earth than we take from it in a lifetime, and that we can create agriculturally productive ecosystems for humans better than nature can.

SERVICES

Natural Building

Construct your home from minimally manufactured, locally available natural resources. A naturally built home might include wall systems made from straw bales, adobe, cob (puddled adobe), compressed earth blocks (engineered adobe), or timber framing. A naturally built home also helps to orient its occupants to the rhythms and cycles of nature.

Achieve yields from your roof tops that collect and use every drop of rain water flowing off of them, and from your plumbing systems that harvest every drop of gray water coming out of your home in a garden.
